The Gibson Les Paul Standard ‘60s pays tribute to Gibson’s golden era, delivering a guitar with a careful selection of period correct appointments, that classic 60s Les Paul feel and bags of authentic tone.
At its heart is the classic Les Paul tonewood partnership - a solid mahogany body topped with an eye catching carved AA maple top, finished with a Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer. This combination allows for the guitar to deliver a rich full tone, with bags of sustain and plenty of resonance, the essence of a classic Les Paul sound.
The body is married to a solid mahogany neck, which has been shaped into the SlimTaper 60s profile and is topped with a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard. The 24.75" scale, trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets and 1.695" (43.05mm) nut width complete the traditional 60’s era feel and look.
The Les Paul Standard ‘60s model comes fitted with a pair of humbuckers in the form of the Burstbucker 61R in the neck position and a Burstbucker 61T in the bridge position - both are loaded with ALNiCo V magnets. The pickups are wired through the traditional 3-way pickup selector, 4 knob configuration (2 x volume and 2 x tone), with audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors. Combined, this classic electronic setup gives you access to those 60s era Les Paul tones (slightly hotter than the 50s Les Paul Standard) with plenty of warmth, clarity and sustain, excelling whether played clean, in a bluesy crunch setup or when pushed heavier into rock territory.
Other appointments include the classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic "Kidney" tuners and aged gold top hat knobs with silver reflectors.
The package comes complete with a Gibson hard shell case.
