The iconic short scale bass steps into the spotlight in the form of this Fender Player II Mustang PJ Bass - a stage-ready take on the classic bass, full of player-friendly features, great tone, and cool retro looks!
Originally launched in 1964, the Fender Mustang Bass has always been the bass that has appealed to players after something a little different, and with this latest iteration, the Player II Mustang PJ Bass is sure to maintain its 'alternative' popularity.
The compact design of the Player II Mustang PJ Bass, with its comfortable small body and nippy short scale will appeal to both players of a smaller frame and those who are put off by the normal longer 34" scale. The satin urethane finished maple neck has a comfortable modern C shape profile and is topped with 9.5" radius fingerboard (either maple or rosewood - model dependant) with rolled edges, set with 19 medium jumbo frets - all making for a great playing experience.
This Player II take on the Mustang Bass comes loaded with the classic pairing of a P Bass pickup (neck position) and Jazz Bass pickup (bridge position). Wired though a simple Volume and Control and 3-way pickup selector switch, the Mustang PJ is able to produce an array of vintage passive bass tones, from thick warm P 'plummy' tones to some grinding mid-range 'bark'.
Other appointments include the vintage-style Fender tuning machines and a four-saddle standard bridge.
The Player II Fender Mustang PJ is a classic bass guitar, upgraded with a host of appointments that allows for an easy playing experience with a flexible sound pallette.
